I really didn’t like the idea that vi and Caitlyn where going to be in a relationship or there building up to their relationship . and that vi chose to help Caitlyn over her sister in the bridge seen , I mean she just meet her and she going to save Caitlyn over the sister that she’s wanted to find for all those years. And vi join the enforcers not because of her “ love “ of zaun no it’s just because vi didn’t want to help zaun she wanted to hurt it by joining the enforcers for “ help “ she abandoned any sense of loyalty to zaun that she had left. For what those enforcers did she should have despised Caitlyn even after she got her out of jail . I think what I’m trying to say is that I hate Caitlyn

I can't believe that no one is talking about the part where Miguel traps Miles in the little red self prison thingy and while everyone including Gwen and Peter tells Miles to calm down, Hobie simply whispers "Palms". That was the moment i realized, ah, this guy is the only one who is truly on Miles's side. He doesn't try to hide things from him like Gwen or sugarcoat the dark reality of the Spider Society like Peter. That was when everything about Hobie clicked for me and I realized what a deeply layered character he is

I really love this video. I like watching video essays on youtube often but this video has really stuck with me. Ghibli movies are my favourite genre as I find them so peaceful and such a distraction and reminder that life doesn’t have to be so stressful. I think the way you analysed these characters was fascinating. It was just so accurate I couldn’t disagree with anything! I really liked the comparison to American romance media. I love your insight so much. I always loved Miyazaki women characters because they were so refreshing from the Western female leads I was used to. I had just about oversaturrated my book palette with YA novels and thankfully discovered Ghibli movies. Immediately, I was amazed and entranced by how different the women were portrayed, but I also couldn't put it into words as how they were different. You were able to and so well. Thank you so much!
